After looking at the woman
in front of the coffee shop
waiting in the cold for the
last half an hour, he felt
like he should at least
help in some way. So,
he made his way outside,
hoping that he wasn’t
interrupting something.
“Uh- Look, why
don’t you wait
inside ? It’s going
to rain soon and
I’ve heard it’s going
to be bad.”

“Please don’t tell
anyone I’m here?
I need to hide for
like —- 5 minutes.
Act like I’m not here.”

“Sorry, we’re just
about to close —-”
Icarus stated awkwardly, showing
the stranger his keys to prove his
point. He stopped for a second and
bit his lip.

“I mean, if it’s urgent
I suppose I could
help.”

He hadn’t slept properly in the
last couple of days because of
that damned painting and it was
his only excuse as he ungracefully
stumbled into the customer, spilling
the hot cup of coffee in his hand on
the other. Worst waiter in existence?
Check.
“Shit. Fuck.”
I’m so sorry.”
